Installing a PEC floating airlift aerator is less costly than placing an air diffuser on the bottom of your pond. A single 4" solar powered draft tube can turn 2 lpm of medium fine bubble aeration into 20 lpm of top to bottom pond destratification mixing. All while providing a zero carbon footprint and high oxygen transfer efficiency at a fraction of the cost of maintenance of electric grid powered bubblers or mechanical fountain spray type aerators.

PEC floating airlift aerators are the only way to go unless you are into daily maintenance headaches.

All other bubbler aerators use bottom mounted air diffusers. Bottom mounted diffusers were designed when energy was cheap and specifically for sewage treatment. Bottom mounted diffusers are undesireable from a pond aeration standpoint because they make:

WATER CLOUDY: Placing a diffuser on the bottom of the pond disturbs the ponds benthic layer and suspends solids that cloud the water and quickly uses up all available oxygen.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION INTENSE: Every foot of pond depth can double the cost of energy when bottom mounting fine bubble air diffusers.

MAINTENANCE NIGHTMARES: Every foot of pond depth can double the air pumps mechanical stress and maintenance costs.(ask them about the pump warranty!)

PEC draft tube technology mixes at any depth while consuming the same power. By floating a 4" expandable tube and placing air bubbles 0.5-1.0 ft inside it, you can aerate and mix at any pond depth.

You only need an air pump capable of 0.8 psi pressure no matter how deep your pond is. All other systems require 1 psi for every 2 ft of water depth. Our EKBS-10A can pump over 25,000 GPD at any depth you choose, just using the sun.

** If you purchase an ALAB diffuser with our draft tube you will meet EPA fine bubble oxygen transfer specifications to provide oxygen transfer capabilites at 0.3 micron bubble sizes. This is sufficient to exceed the needs of 1000 kg of trout at 20 C and 2 lpm per diffuser. And all this at less than 10 watts of power per diffuser. This is one tenth the power needed by diffusers placed 10 feet deep or sky high water fountains.
